Post Workout Banana and Blackberry Smoothie

Smoothies are ideal as post-exercise treats. This particular banana and blackberry smoothie, is super easy to make and will give you an instant energy boost! It’s packed with awesome vitamins and antioxidants and it is also low cal, so don’t you worry about your diet. Post workout smoothies will help you jump-start recovery by providing the necessary carbs, vitamins, electrolytes and antioxidants.

Bananas are my all time favorite ingredient when it comes to smoothies. I frequently use bananas as the main ingredient in raw vegan smoothies. It gives the perfect texture and because they’re so sweet, you don’t have to add any extra sweeteners. Also, bananas are rich in minerals, like potassium, and protect against muscle cramps during workouts.

Blackberries are among my favorite berries – on the first place are raspberries which I love! Blackberries are super rich in antioxidants. Their top benefits are cancer prevention, skin, bones and eye health improvement and weight loss. It’s summer, you should eat as many fresh berries as you can! They’re really a miracle of nature, and their taste is delicious…who can resist them?!

Ingredients for 1 jar of energizing banana and blackberry smoothie:

  • 1 banana, peeled and sliced
  • 2/3 cup blackberries, fresh or frozen 
  • ice [if you use fresh blackberries]

Directions:

Add all in blender and pulse until smooth. That’s it! Enjoy an energy booster, post workout banana and blackberry smoothie!
